April 2022...The Simplicity of the Gospel

I had two blessings this past weekend.  First, I attended the Celebration of Life for Jose Fernando Argumedo, Sr.  This retired pastor went home to be with our Lord on March 2, 2022.  The celebration was a testimony to the hope we have in the gospel.  I sat there and marveled at the joy in his home going.  I saw faith at work.  The service proclaimed the simplicity of the gospel.  "Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me.  In my Father's house are many dwelling places, if it were not so I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you." John 14:1-2.
We have a home in a "glory-land" that outshines the sun.  The gospel is simple, "hope of eternal life in the presence of Chrsit."

Next, I attended worship with First Korean Baptist Church.  It was such joy, such peace, such a blessing.  The sermon was on the hope of the gospel.  The congregation exhibited their faith in Christ, celebrating the promise of God.  The pastor proclaimed Christ.  There was excitement in the air.  There was no rush, just the calm assurance that God is in charge, we can trust Him to fulfill our needs; His timing is perfect, and the only way to eternal life is through Jesus.  I rejoiced that the same Lord I worship was present in the home going of a Hispanic pastor and in the worship of a Korean congregation.  The gospel is available to all regardless of your language or nationality.

The gospel is simple.  Everyone needs to hear it, "There is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12.

Proclaim it from the rooftops, "Jesus Saves, Jesus Saves."
