NELLIS BAPTIST CHURCH - SOUND TECH OPENING
The sound technician will manage audio equipment to create distraction-free worship experiences, setting up microphones, mixers, speakers, and monitors 45-60 minutes before services, running sound checks, and collaborating with pastors and worhsip leaders on levels and cues. During service, they mix live audionfor sermons, music, and streams while troubleshooting silently. the technician will debrief and store gear. They will also train volunteers. This role demands passion for music, calm maturity, serving gifts, and technical precision to amplify God's message.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support choir rehearsals/worship services and special events
- Arrive early to set up/tear down mics, speakers, mixers, cables, and monitors
- Run sound checks, gain staging, and monitor mixes; confirm schedule with worship leader
- Mix live audio: adjust levels for music, sermons, solos; follow worship leader cues and boost monitors as needed
- Monitor for glitches and troubleshoot silently to keep distraction-free flow
- Coordinate with video/live stream teams for balanced feeds
- Debrief with worship leader/pastro on issues
- Note faulty gear and remove/replace it
- Return media/files; clear stage and store equipment properly
- Train volunteers; maintain/inventory gear (batteries, repairs)
- Pursue training to improve skills
REQUIREMENTS
- Must have experience operating X32 Behringer or similar board
- Experience leading and managing sound team personnel
- Formal training is preferred - References are required
- A servants heart
- Background check

The average work week is expected to be 6 hours and therefore considered part-time.
