2 hours (Pre-requiste - Leadership Practicum I)
Experiential learning of leadership and Christian ministry through field education and theological reflection upon the student's engagement in minstry. The student will serve two consecutive semesters in a leadership position at an approved field setting with a challenging learning covenant under an approved mentor/supervisor. The student will meet weekly in a Minstry Reflection Group. (Pass/Fail)

CLP 1111 Ministry Foundations

An entry course designed to assist students developing the necessary personal, spiritual, and ministerial foundations for life-long ministry. Students will engage in assessment of their gifts and passions in ministry and will encounter some basic approaches to effective ministry such as strategic, financial, and physical planning for ministry; communication and relational skills; and team and staff building.

CLI 1351 Ministry, Evangelism and Church Planting

3 hours
This course covers an understanding of the church as sent by Christ into a lost world and as the church sending itself and its memebers out into the world locally and globally. It entails a brief history of missions, NAMB (North American Mission Board) and IMB (International Mission Board), and current missiology. Central to the course is how to lead others to Christ and to teach others to do likewise. Various types of evangelism and their effectivemenss in different contexts will be discussed, and personal and group plans for evangelism will be developed. It covers the basics and various methods of when and how to start new churches.

An introduction to Spiritual and Leadership Formation. Unique aspects of Spiritual and Leadership Formation related to the church (including multi-cultural settings and global perspectives) and denomination will be explored. Current resources and techniques will be examined.

CLE 1412 The Educational Ministry of Church

3 hours
An examination of the rationale for a program of Christian education. The study focuses on the principles and methods for organizing, administering, promoting, and improving the Bible teaching, discipleship training, and missions education programs. Attention is focused on the distinctive tasks, materials, and objectives of these programs.
